Kardamena

Just 6 kilometers from Antimachia is Kardamena, a former fishing village that fast developed into a tourist resort of note. The village was established in 1865 on the ruins of the ancient city of Alasarna with its Hellenistic temple of Apollo.

Its small harbor, whose surrounding cliffs act as natural wave breakers, is a convenient departure point for visits to the neighboring island of Nisyros, while many visitors reach this picturesque spot by boat from various points around the island.

From here, one can take a boat to visit the hot springs of Agia Irini, famed for their therapeutic healing properties, especially concerning gynecological ailments.
